So Twitter has gotten into Valentine's Day, which is cute. If you type <3 @so&so it sends that person a little heart icon and also shows up in your twitter stream... unfortunately it also shows up in everyone else's streams and on their phones as well.
There is, of course, a bit of a backlash against this. Not only talking about how spammy it is, but also how Valentine's Day is a superficial Hallmark holiday. Which I can see, but it makes me a little sad to see that.
I have to admit it, I'm a romantic at heart. I'm a cynical one, but I'm still a romantic. I find Valentine's Day a nice focusing point for showing affection to friends and family, not necessarily a "going to get lucky" day.
What do you think? What's your opinion on this day, good or bad? Or is it just the day before chocolate goes on sale?
