The name Pownce still sounds like a cat treat to me. But I guess that was Pounce.

    I keep calling it Pounce anyway. I have no idea how it is supposed to be pronounced so I feel like I can set a trend :)

    Since when does 'o' get pronounced 'aw'? Short vowel = vowel followed by consonant. Short o phnetically is pronounced 'ah' :)

    But 'ou' is always pronunced "ow". Example - count, mouth, etc

    Normal rules don't apply dahwn he-yah. Growing up in NY I had a mono-syllabic name: Chris. Moved to the South and found out it was really two: Chri-as. Of course there is Georgian friend of mine that stretches to three: "Hey thair Cha-ri-as!" She was amazed that she was pegged as a southerner when she went to Austrailia. Go figure.
