Nice design. However, I would ditch the gradient on the words "coming soon" and I would also make the words "Indie Media" smaller to further draw emphasis on the blank space in the box and add tension.

Thanks for the critique.

No prob. Sorry if i sounded a little mean, lol. I had to make a portfolio last semester for my architecture class. I learned a lot about layout and design that semester.

No, not at all. I do have a Graphic Design degree but I still believe that to get the best design out of something you need to get other peoples views on it. Also, it is just a simple teaser page that I spent an hour on and I blatantly used Appleās current design style they use on their home page.

sorry... i have to agree with Ulises R. =P
the gradient looks a little unprofessional especially above the sleek glow and reflection. I'm not sure how the design of the site it's self looks like or what your going for but if you put a reflection on the box it would look very sleek. Again, I don't know how "web 2.0" your going with this... just an idea. Cant wait to see the site up and running!
Alex.

http://www.indymedia.org ?
or totally different?

so what is indie media?

Needs a bit of color in it -- even a slight tinge to it -- but other then that looks good :)

I have no problem with the gradient design but it's very common in every web design you see nowadays. Also, it needs a little bit of color. It's too blunt. Not all indie movies are black and white.

I think it looks great.
