Jen's hard-drive in her older iBook G4 died last week, so I spend a couple of hours this afternoon replacing it. That model of iBook isn't the worst I have had to replace parts on, but definitely not as easy as on a MacBook.
It would have gone a lot smoother, except for a couple of minor omissions in the guide I followed (http://www.powerbookme...). They forgot to mention re-connecting the trackpad to the logic board, and they listed a few inner-case screws as all the same size, instead of varying lengths.
Turned out good though and now she is back up to running 10.4.11 and iLife '08. :D
