I had two because I was an only child and my parents have died. When the phone does not ring over the holidays or get birthday cards it really depessed my wife. She said that was really important that we should have two. I have a little girl 3, who is a princess and a 7 month boy whom is a force of nature.

Sometimes you take what you get. We have one son, and he is just the most amazing person in the world. I know only children get a bit spoiled, but we worked so hard to have him it was going to happen anyway.
Have as many as you can, but no more then you can afford.
