Public The Flying Pig Marathon has come and gone. To be honest, I'm a bit bummed out and life certainly seemed far more boring after the run but now is returning to normalcy. I find that after such and exciting day that everything else just seems so far less interesting. Especially this time around. The weather was crap for most of the week, and even on Saturday morning when I ...

Public The weather has been great. I managed to get to the trails Wednesday and Thursday night. I felt bad about it, but I chewed some girl out about her dog. At Alut Park, a lot of people like to take their dogs on the trails. That is not a problem with me. Some people like to let their dogs off the leash, which I don't like, but if you ...

Public This week has been absolutely gorgeous weather, and I want to run all day and night! I have been pretty close though. On Monday I did 6 miles before work and 11 after work. Tuesday I did only 3 miles before work, and after I just did push ups and crunches. Today was way too good to pass up and before work I had a good, fast run and did ...

Public Had a decent "rest" week last week. I ran starting Wednesday and just did 3 or 6 miles, nothing more for the rest of the week with rest on Sunday. Today I did 6 in the morning and 11 after work at varying paces. The Cincinnati Flying Pig marathon is just less than 2 weeks away. Finishing is obviously no problem, but I'm hoping to put up a PR ...

Public So McNaughton came and went, and now my life feels quite boring. Maybe it's because I've taken the last few days off of running and my diet is a bit jacked up, but everything feels bland. All I want to do is the next race. I want more mileage or something, I just can't get my head around it right now. So I left work around 4 ...

Public Wow, 10 days since a post. Not good. Anyway, the last weekend before McNaughton was nice relaxing one. I did a very lame 16 miles on Saturday. My legs and mind were really not in it. I just spent the rest of the weekend chilling out, drinking chai and reading running magazines trying to get psyched up. I haven't run much this week, but Tuesday was such fantastic weather ...

Public Last week was rainy, but the weather report said Saturday was going to be nice. I hung onto this all week, and was not disappointed. My XT Wings were still giving me trouble so I went out with my regular Supernova and my new REI pack. It's really nice and has double water bottles. I left home about 7AM and went to Alut Park. The trail was a bit ...

Public Well, I returned the CD. I then bought The North Face Arnuva 50 Boa AND the Montrail Hurricane Ridge. However, not in that order. First I got the Hurricane Ridge and wore them around. I liked the fit of these more than the Continental Divide, however, the HR also didn't fit great. As much as I want to love Montrail shoes I gotta face facts; they don't love ...

Public Wore the CD at the office a bit today. I was messing with different ways of tightening the laces, loosing them, and other stuff. They fit good, but I'm still kind of worried. I'm not sure. I guess they are so different from my road shoes I'm not sure if I'm totally set on these shoes. We'll see.

Public I'm running more and more, and I'm starting to think I need to really keep track of how many miles I'm logging on each set of shoes. They feel fine, but I'm worried I could risk and injury with worn out shoes. I'm thinking of upgrading one pair next month, and then I'll start a mileage log.

Public Not a bad run this morning. Managed about 9.5mi. I went at a 7:30 pace for the second 3.5 miles and it felt alright. The 3rd loop that little tightness came back in my left calf. Taking shorter steps at about 9/9.5min/mile helped but I didn't push it.
I went to the Benchmark Outfitters in Cincinnati tonight. I remember The Benchmark from high ...

Public Decent run this morning. I didn't run fast as my left calf is bothering me a little. I think my trail shoes I wore on Sunday and Monday are just too big and clunky. I'm definitely going to look for some new shoes next paycheck. I'm thinking of Vasque Blur, or Velocity. I'm also considering the North Face Arnuva 50 Boa ('cause Dean uses it) and ...
