Random Geeky thoughts....

I think.... I would trade my Mac Book Pro for an iMac and an Air... or maybe even for Two iMacs, and an Eee PC like device.

my 17" Mac Book Pro is my main machione. I use it at work, I use it at home. I Spend 10 to 14 hours a day using it on average. I love it, it's a great machine that does anything throw at it.

But recently I've ben analizing what exactly I do with it..... and most of the time I am using 20% of it's power or less....

I never thought I'd really want an Air, but this analasys has me thinking about one.

As long as I had a machine I could go to for the more powerful stuff, even if it was just being used remotely, I think I could do without lugging this 17" monster around....

I may even experiment with this theory this summer, with one of those new 9" Eee PC's or a similar micro lappy thingy.

I don't know... it's a hard change tomake, but I'm starting to think about it.

What about you, could you ditch the super powerful do everthing laptop for a more desktop/remote set up? Are you already doing it?

Anyone want to take me up on the trade? ;)

I can't stand being tethered to a desktop. I hate the fact that I have to be in the room that the machine is in to do what I need to do.

I used to be anti-laptop, but that all changed about 3 years ago. I love having all the power I need at my disposal, no matter where I am.

yeah I've been that way myself for many a year. But lately I've been suprised how well remote access works, especially locally.... As long as I have netaccess I should be able to most anything without having to sit infront of the desktop.... ???? I think.
