Public It's 15° F outside right now... and dropping. Not as cold as was forecast, but cold enough! Just because they changed the way they estimate the wind chill factor doesn't mean it feels any warmer, dammit! Wind chill = 3° still feels like it did when it was -10° under the old system!

Public The local WCCO-TV news just did a segment on the "citizen's arrest", and the used a clip from the old "Andy Griffith Show" to illustrate the concept. In that episode, which I remember all too well, Gomer (later to achieve notoriety as "Gomer Pyle, USMC") arrests Barney Fife for making an illegal U-turn.

Public My DSL internet connection was all barfed up this afternoon so I couldn't connect. I guess this explains why my notebook system had connected to another WiFi signal yesterday.... it was the only one that was internet-enabled that could be found.

Public I just installed a bunch of those shelves that use double-slotted rails and double-pronged brackets at the house. It's something that we've talked about since we moved into the the house 12 years ago. Now that they're all in place (in the basement family room) they look great!
Which begs the question: Why did we wait 12 years to do this? And... why didn't I do ...
