Can someone explain what font setting within Firefox might be not quite right, or within windows itself, take a look.
FF on the left, IE7 on the right... even using Firefox default font settings its just NOT right (font is larger), IE7 seems to have no issue... that font issue is not specific to Revision3 forums its across some of the sites I use, even Pownce. Even a fresh installation of Firefox doesn't fix the issue, seems like it could bad font in windows font folder, I just don't know...
Anybody ever run into the same problem? I can't figure out how to correct it, I don't want to do a repair install of XP with outdated install CD's pre SP3. :P

I'm going to do a system restore to a point before I remember noticing my fonts were all f*cked up, guess thats one of the only things I can do at this point... but not before backing up my entire system, I can live with minor font annoyances for awhile.

Did this only pop up after installing SP3?
Could it actually be a CSS issue on their end? Just curious. I know I had problems when I was working on the stylesheet for my website. IE and FF definitely render things differently, and the slightest bit of code made my site look "off." I haven't seen their stylesheet, but that could be causing it, no?

May of occured after SP3 update, I'm not really sure... its a hard thing to pinpoint, I know I did install a few fonts after SP3, thats where I'm trying to revert back to, if its an SP3 issue then... what can I do? :)
In the screenshot though, Firefox used to display the exact same font IE7 still does. :S
Edit: I just looked over a few sites with IE7, like Facebook... and the fonts there are also slightly larger than they used to be, not really on an annoyingly large level but its noticeable.

could it be that IE doesn't follow standards. have you tried on opera or such?

IE seemed to be messed up along with Firefox.
I did a system restore, XP ruined my firefox and AVG installation (created Mozilla(2) and AVG(2) directories) and modified the registery incorrectly, botched those two programs but I rearranged and uninstalled both. Firefox is now installed and restored to todays backup and fonts are back to normal as well as IE7, I guess it was something I installed... or unstalled that cause the whole issue.
Time to clean my system and make sure all my programs are up to date, maybe in the process find out what program had screwed up my fonts.
BTW Erin I was kind of sure It wasn't an SP3 problem as my desktop's fonts & settings are fine within the browsers.

Just curious, too, if the font size setting was different in your IE7. Hmm. Sorry you're having so many problems. That's very strange - I know I didn't encounter anything different after updating to SP3.

Nah, the font size in IE7 was default as well, but my problems are over... I've reverted back & things are fine now. :)
