I wasn't feeling well yesterday, so I made my favorite comfort food...which prompts today's QOTD:

QUESTION OF THE DAY: What is your favorite comfort food/meal?

Like I said, I had to make some comfort food last night - so I made creamed chicken over baking powder biscuits. The creamed chicken is like the stuff you get in a pot pie (minus the crust) and poured over baking powder biscuits. Yum.

KFC mashed potatoes and gravy would be my "I don't want to cook" comfort food. No chicken, just the taters.

So, what about you?

Mmm. I like going to this one cheap Thai restaurant when I need some comfort food. They make great green curry. Not really typical comfort food though...

Did you mean you weren't feeling well physically or emotionally? When I'm sick, food is the last thing on my mind.

I'm with !DownByLaw. That stuff is comfort food to the extreme. I just hope it's not sausage gravy...I prefer a nice pepper gravy. Yum! If I don't want to cook it, there's always Cracker Barrel, or in a fix, IHOP.

Aside from that, about to show my Irish roots: anything with potatoes, especially a good potato soup. Makes me feel calm and sleepy and just better.

I don't know that I even have a comfort food - more of a comfort situation. When I get to visit my parents and Mom cooks - there is a certain comfort in that for me.

Along with that, a few months ago my wife found one of Grandma's old cookie recipes and made it for me. That was so wonderful.

my go-to comfort foods are mac and cheese, tuna-noodle casserole (made with campbell's cream of mushroom soup), or hamburger helper (cheeseburger variety)...anyone detect a theme here? creamy + noodles FTW!

I usually head for the fast-food. Sakkio Japan is so GOOD. Also, if I can snag it...Five Guys Burgers and Fries...

I loves my mac & cheese, covered in seasoned salt (that delicious mix of salt, pepper, peprika, chili powder, onion powder and some other bits and pieces), it always calms me down. So either that, or a bacon cheeseburger from Red Robin.
