Sorry for this rant I just had a 55 min phone conversation with HP support in India. My Girlfriends HP v2000 she uses for school has had a blue screen issue for a while. I have taken it to the repair centre in Adelaide, Aus 4 to have the issue fixed. It was a motherboard I tested everything before I sent it to be repaired. 1st time they said nothing wrong with it ,2nd time it was my Kingston ram ,3rd time they replaced the hard drive *sigh* 4th time they changed the Mobo. I told the little kid every time I went there it needs a motherboard. But my 12 years in I.T counts for nothing to a teenager who knows it all. Anyway we have had it back for just over a week after the MOBO replacement now the LCD is flickering. I think someone didn’t fit the cable from the video correctly and it’s loose. Tested it with external monitor and pushed on the chassis a few times to see if I could get the screen to work. I argue with HP India I want it looked at again They want to charge me because it’s out of warranty; my argument is that this problem is a continuation from first time they looked at it when it was in warranty. If you don’t fix something when it’s in warranty it is still the manufactures problem when it’s out of warranty, shouldn’t it be? Anyway after 50 odd minutes of then making me run useless tests from there scripts and me arguing, they agreed to look at it. W agreed if the problem was there’s they would wear the cost if it was mine I had to pay. I asked to speak to a supervisor 4 times the women refused to put me through too one. I got off the phone and looked at the laptop Now it would take another hour to drive there and back to the repair centre to drop it off One more hour to collect it and come home that’s 3 more hours out of my life I will never get back . And the repair centre is slow, no repair takes less than 3 weeks with these guys This leaves me loaning my Mac book to her ladyship So I ripped the shroud off the laptop found the video cable reseated it stuck it back together this took 15 min. Guess what it works fine. Im feed up with the lack of pride people take in there work and companies who try to support me with bad English and try to fix things reading a sheet of paper I buy locally made products over overseas items .Now I have decided to buying items that are supported locally. Anyone want a used V2000 new motherboard and hard drive the girlfriends been using my Mac book so much she wants one now.
