My collegue just asked me the name of a font she saw in a magazine... if you are not a typography encyclopedia like me, there is a web app you can use at the link below.

"What the Font" lets you upload an image file of the font in question and will return results of possible font families. It is not always completely accurate- but gets pretty close.
