but i prefer the way twitter lets you sort
  • Chris B. replied Jul 1, 2007
Sort how? You mean the @ thing?
  • Tamara K. replied Jul 1, 2007
well, yes, there's that, but also by replies to you, maybe i just need to pownce more and get the hang of it - also nice to be able to text msg tweets

I like your icon on here. : ) I agree on txting. I imagine they're going to get a short code soon enough. They'd better.

But I did create the set. I picked who I wanted in my Pownce group. : )

not that new though. Jaiku has groups (Channels) too. I'm still trying to understand why I want to play with another one of these...

Next reason: Even in Alpha it seems to have less problems than twitter.

I need my desktop auto-refreshing Pounce app comparable to Twitterific - that's where I get the most value from twitter or jaiku or now Pownce - is there one yet?

I really like the fact that Twitter can interact with SMS/Text messages on your phone. Which is great at least as long as the buddy list is reasonable.

cheryl c, there is a downloadable desktop Pownce app (see "Download" below), but I haven't been able to get it to work on my Mac PowerBook yet--it seems buggy. Re sets--that could come really in handy, if you have distinct categories for your friends. At this point, I don't--they mostly overlap. I'm still trying to understand Jaiku's "channels," which seem more by interest. It's a different concept than "groups" here. Pownce seems more for discussions, whereas Twitter asks the simple question, "What are you doing right now?" I noticed Biz from Twitter is also on Pownce.

Man, I wish I could favorite the original post here. You had me at "FFS, Twitter... they did it out of the gate." Five stars.

    Also. Sets.

Thanks, Eric. It just seems like there's going to be an impending feature war, and if not, perhaps the sleeker will survive. Funny what each one lacks. I can't make my own Pownce background?
