PTotD: Disappearing UPS packages!

Currently on my mind is the fact that last night's Amazon delivery -- delivered to doorstop at ~6pm -- disappeared from my doorstop by the time I got home an hour later. Either it was delivered to the wrong how or it was PINCHED. Talked about me being pissed off.

It's never happened to me before. You?

What would you do?

I wrote to Amazon asking them to get an inquiry started with UPS ASAP. And now I'm wishing I had an attack dog I could sic on whatever mean, mean person stole my video games.

    That sucks! I just ordered the HDDVD drive from that Amazon deal and it should be here tomorrow. But I'm worried now..

    Just make sure none of your neighbors are looking out their windows awaiting its arrival as eagerly as you are!

    You know what I do. When I order I have it shipped to my work. At least I know that it will be in my hands that way.

    I'm always leary of UPS. They are notorious for leaving packages on the doorstep. A friend of mine has a nice bright sticky on the his front foor saying that this fax machine was left on the back door. That's like an invite for someone to steal!

    Never happened to me, only that DHL have been late all the time. Do not like DHL.

    I'm not sure how the laws are in the USA, but in Norway the sender of the package is responsible for the package until you the receiver is standing with it in your hands.

    What do you expect from DHL? They used to be Airborne Express. I don't know why anyone even uses them. Personally if you don't overnight anything then just use the ol post office.

    Amazon is awesome. No questions asked, they are just going to send me replacement items. Unfortunately they are not reaching me in time for me to take them on my trip (I leave tomorrow) but at least there is no more hassle.
