Now I don't feel so stupid. According to a National Geographic survey, 1/3 of UK respondents thought Mt. Everest was "somewhere in europe".

How sad, we all know its in Africa. :)

    It's not surprising nor is it disturbing to me. With so much going on within one's life and country sometimes it's hard to figure out where everything is because it's just not that important to know at the moment.

    I don't disagree, but I do find it mildly disturbing especially in these times, that people don't know more about the world we live in.
