the weezer show here in LA last night totally kicked ass. i'm not a _huge_ huge fan; i mostly went because i was taking my daughter. also angels and airwaves opened and i wanted to see them.

but weezer didn't just play a concert, it was a _show_ in many ways and very entertaining. they were on for at least an hour and a half (maybe as long as two i wasn't keeping track but suddenly it was midnight). lots of good songs and they even came out with really good 'floyd and nirvana covers. light show, costumes. the link on their site for the show doesn't have details but it pretty much looked like what's on the post for the previous night's show in san jose http://weezer.com/news...

tom from A&A came out to sing "undone" http://tinysong.com/DzB and near the end of the show they had a bunch of fans come on stage (from backstage so it was pre-arranged) with their instruments to jam on a couple songs. there were guitars of course and percussion things but also a trombone, electric cello, a couple saxaphones, a clarinet and other crazy shit. rivers got "island in the sun" started by having the crowd sing "hip hip" and then started the first verse and of course the entire place sang along for the chorus. he then called out different people on stage to bust solos including a nice bit by a dude on an accordian!

maybe it's because i haven't been to a show that size in a while (i'm mostly a small venue type) or that weezer are a fun act, or both, but overall ... great time!

I am a huge Weezer fan from day 1. The "Blue" album is one of the best albums in the past 25 years.

I love weezer! I am glad that you had fun! I had the chance to see angels and airwaves at a small club in town and they were awesome!
