Is this relief in the stock market temporary or there is more bloodshed left ?

In the US the market is way over what it should be anyway.
Not enough people are profit taking and that is because of greed.
Many investors, especially the baby boomers, all want to retire as millionares or better. And that just doesn't always happen with stocks alone.
A properly diversified portfolio will get you into that territory. Which means having slow growth portions like real estate on tap. But people want instant gratification and so the market is out of whack.
What we need is a major profit taking period which pulls the index down to 10k. Then we can slowly build up from that plateau as we did during the 50's, 60's and 70's.
I am not sure about the other world markets, but I doubt it is much different overall.
Its too much of a good thing and people are taking afr too many risks by letting their money ride like a craps table. Sooner or later they will get snake eyes and lose everything.
