WTF is Sony nuts Waranty is voided by plugging ina PS3 into a surge protector? This has got to be wrong.

    M$ warns us not to as well with our 360's...if someone could explain why that would be great. Would plugging into the UPS be better? Since it is a computer after all.

    The only thing I think they could be shooting for is, that if it is plugged in to the wall and gets surged they can say it was "an act of God", or if you claim that it was plugged in to a Surge Arrestor they can say that voids the warranty. Either way they do not have to cover the repair. Pretty slimey in IMHO.

    And a UPS is technically a surge protector

    Yeah I was thinking that it had something to do with the unregulated power a surge protector doesn't have. Since you could plug multiple devices in at a time anytime there would be a brown out or something you could brick your 360/PS3. That was my thinking at least. So no one knows why, good to know.
