That feeling will go away quickly when you have new tech to play with. Congrats.

i went with that all upgraded iMac.
    Everything to the limits.

    Now talk about spending guilt!
  • Aaron C. replied Dec 28th
Let yourself be immersed in the 24" of digital landscape and watch the sick feeling melt away...

    Big monitors are therapeutic :)

Lol, you've just out done me with my 20" iMac. They're really cool though and the resolution is great.

Congrats! I have one and I love it. There's no need for guilt as long as you love the thing.
  • Konstantino K. replied Dec 28th
Hopefully you won't be in *too* much debt. I know my Dad wants one, though I know that the 20" is really big as it is. I guess it depends on what you need to do with it. Congrats. :)

I baught a iPod classic 80 gb and feel sick about it:/

But watching my TV Shows and Podcasts in such a handy device is really nice.

I'm making that plunge soon too. It's a big chunk of change, but after a lifetime of beige boxes and pcs, it'll be nice to have computer that works.

See it as an investment in usability, design, and sheer joy. Added bonus: Screen-real-estate!

Congratulations Craig! Money well spent on a great piece of hardware. The 24" screens are fantastic to work on ... so much space for your windows and icons to roam. :)

Hey! Its all good! I feel like that sometimes too! But it usually goes away after a few days! I always go back to the store i got it from and then look for that exact item you bought! If you are proud that you bought it when you see people looking at it and stuff than you deserve it! If you are excited to go back home and play with it more than you'll be fine!

Ahhh congrats. My MBP has basically become my desktop now that I've hooked up the 22"... but it would be nice to get something new.

money is just a word.... :)

The sickness you're feeling is all of our collective jealousy being poured out onto you. Well, at least the jealous of us non-Apple folk. Enjoy the iMac!
  • Heidi C. replied Dec 28th
You'll get over it. When you spend money on something you'll use and enjoy, it's worth it. Up until this spring my home machine was a G3 Powerbook that was just too full of stuff (2GB harddrive). I'd been wanting a new one for years and kept procrastinating. Finally I got the MacBook Pro and wondered why I'd waited so long because I'm on it all the time. That sinking feeling of parting with so much cash evaporated quite quickly.

That 24" screen will be great for photo editing.
  • Herb G. replied Dec 28th
I felt the same when I bought my Mac Mini last month. You'll get over it, that new iMac is sweet!
  • Mister C. replied Dec 28th
    @Joey...

for the price of that unit I can get way more goodies in a Linux or Windoes box.

With Apple you get average innards for maximum price. Its like buying your jeans at Old Navy instead of k-Mart.

Bother jeans are fine, just one you get to brag about. But really, no one cares after the third time you mention it.

Just dumped my Viao of a few years for an iMac. I love it. I had the same feeling for some time. Just as bad as when I spent about a grand more on my Mac Book Pro a year ago.

  • Erik O. replied Jan 6th
But MacWorld SF is coming up, though the iMacs probably won't get a rev....
