So disgusted with politics....

Just finished listening to Obama (re)explain his position on the Rezko house issue as well as the pastor thing. He did a perfectly fine job, and it's pretty admirable considering if it were me I'd be going off on the press for what they've become in this political system.

It infuriates me to see reporters trying to make "news" out of total non-stories like these. He's already laid everything out on the table, clearly and plainly denouncing the pastor's stuff and the (alleged) actions of Rezko if they turn out to be true, but "the media" insists on creating something out of nothing.

I guess it's encouraging to know that this is the worst they can come up with in an effort to nail him for something... no, actually it's not encouraging - still just sickening.

I'm sure all these reporters really think they're being hard core and "asking the tough questions", etc. At least that's what they tell themselves in an effort to try and convince themselves that they aren't basically doing tabloid journalism. How about some hard questions on real issues that actually matter? I can think of quite a few things in recent history that the media has been virtually silent on, relative to their exuberance on petty crap like this.

Lest you think this is a partisan post only aimed at defending Obama - it isn't. This just happened to be the thing that set it off, but it's a rant about the media, not about any specific political point of view.
