Hyperbole aside, I can see both sides of the issue. One side is covering their asses legally, the other side are coming from a virtual world where personal creativity is encouraged, protected, and proliferated. Hippies vs. necessary corporatism.

Oh, I see also both sides and also the work which goes into making it happen. But I also see it a little bit as a problem of transparency.. and maybe bad timing.
Nevertheless such a convention should be media wise as open as possible to let the most people get the most out of it. And selling recordings later on etc. is not really what I would like to see..
So I am hoping for next year for an SLCC without unions and with a sponsor which can cover all the costs involved in streaming (I also do think that video streaming is important btw.)
Which does not mean that I am not coming, still looking forward to meeting all my SL friends :-)
