Public This site was just sent through to me by Fiona from College@Home. I've yet to go through it in any detail, but on the surface it looks like an incredibly comprehensive list. The post is called "100 Helpful Web Tools for Every Kind of Learner"

Public In other news, for 3 days running now my back is killing me. Got worse between last night and this morning and I'm having trouble moving again. May have to go to the physio because this is pretty persistent...

Public Pownce's find friends tool seems a bit off sometimes - people are coming up who are complete strangers. Seems to be they search for the name exclusively, so people come up with the same name yet who aren't applicable. Search by email would be better...

Public Something in my latest Ubuntu updates has seriously jacked up Firefox. Only thing that's missing right now is smoke and sparks.

Public Poll: How do you use Pownce? I'm wondering if Pownce users see the applications as something comparable to the conversational tones present in Twitter, whether this is more of a blogging style application where posts are longer and more considered, or perhaps whether this is closer in style to tumblelogs like Tumblr. What say you?

Public Very curious. I'm able to upload a file to share publicly via the Pownce web interface but now through the AIR client. In the case of the latter I'm told that I can't share files publicly - though the Pownce news clearly states that you can "Send your files to the public as well as your friends." Perhaps this change hasn't been incorporated into the AIR client ...

Public This is a test of the file sharing tool to see what Pownce does with a WMV file shared publicly. I'm trying to determine whether it will be embedded in the profile view in the way YouTube clips are, or whether the file will be made available as a clickable text link only.

Public Testing Pownce's file upload/sharing tool. Unless you want to hear or download my rendition of Sesame Street's "Lady Bug's Picnic" you might not want to open this file.

Public This is a link to a Seesmic video file. I'm testing this to find out whether Seesmic clips will be formatted visually on the main profile page as well.

Public Having spent a more reasonable amount of time on this application I'm very impressed with the functionality it offers - especially with regards to the granularity of messaging and privacy options. The file transfer options aren't too shabby either. That said I haven't managed to test this yet. Need some friends first.
