  • Public Tonight I have learned (from watching University Challenge) that Ludwig Wittgenstein once threatened Karl Popper with a poker during an argument about the fundamental nature of morality. Best. Fact. Ever.
    A quick interent search and it turns out the story may or not be true, but that Bertrand Russell was definitely in the audience. Laughing*.

    * I made that bit up. But he definitely was there.

  • Public I'm new to Battlestar Galactica and I'm loving it. All those references to the 'war on terror'- the devastating surprise attack from an opponent we created, enemies amongst us, sacks over suspects' heads, jumpsuited prisoners held in wire cages... wow. Sci fi is geeky but at its best it's about as insightful as it gets. Anyone else a fan?
