Dvorak switches to a Mac. "As someone who does recommend gear to people, I have to think to myself, "Should I recommend something that will come back to haunt me, or recommend a Mac with its higher price but lower hassle factor?""

Recommend a Mac all the way. I have a lot of friends who say the software support it laking, but the things they do the most have software on mac. The only time i us windows is programming in Visual Studio and a few business apps that are not supported by Mac. These are the same programs that my friends need, and they are offered on campus and at the office.
Mac is far superior to a pc. I think even if it is targeted more by hackers it will still rain supreme to pc.

I'm not a big Dvorak fan, but he does make a point for the recommendation. We know as techies that people aren't going to maintain their computers, so why not get over the guilt of a higher price-point and tell them to buy a Mac?

If people would do that, it would make my life easier. I spend a good deal of time at work and in my free time fixing peoples computers dues to viruses and "mal ware."
I am seeing a lot of my friends moving to mac do to its ease of use and reliability. I guess this is a good thing.
Dvorak can be a little much at times. Bitch about this bitch about that. Its Dvorak what else can you say.
