I'm against an "edit" button on pownce. There are at least three problems with edit buttons:

1) With an edit button, something that someone has already replied to could be changed to something completely different, making the respondent look stupid.

2) The edit button allows you to hog a space the queue by submitting first and writing later.

3) another interface element that could have been avoided if people checked what they wrote before submitting. The technical term is "clutter".

Read your post before you submit, or live with the consequences. If it's Armageddon, you can delete it.

    Meh. As you say, you can delete if it's horrible, so why have an edit button? I prefer delete power to an editable comment I can't delete later.
