Public Bar-B-Que (New York Version)
*from my Grandma
1 lb. Ground Beef
1 Med Onion Chopped
1 Tbl. Brown Sugar
1 Tbl. Yellow Mustard
1 Cup Ketchup
1 Cup Water
1 Tbl. Vinegar
1 Tbl. Worchestire Sauce
salt and pepper to taste (if at all)
Brown Meat and onion, drain fat and liquid. Add remaining ingredients and simmer at least 1/2 hour on Low/Med-Low heat.Aug 20th 2 Replies Forward

Public Cucumber Salad
3-4 Medium Cucumbers
1/2 c Finely diced Green Peppers
1/2c Thinly Sliced Onion Rings
1/2 Tbl. Celery Seed
1 tsp. Salt
1c Vinegar
1/2 c White sugar
Wash cucumbers, slice thinly, but do not peel. Combine with peppers, onions and seasonings. Mix together vinegar and sugar, stirring until sugar dissolves. Pour over Cucumber mixture. Cover and refrigerate at least 24 hours before serving.5.0 starsAug 20th 3 Replies Forward

Public Tomato Soup and Noodles
(one of my favorites!)
1 1/3 Cups Macaroni
1 Can tomato soup
3 Tbl. Sugar
Dash of Pepper
Boil Macaroni for 8 min or until Al Dente. Drain water and add tomato soup and 1 can of water to macaroni. Add Sugar and Pepper and heat through.

1 pkg. Linguine Pasta
2-3 Large Portobello Mushrooms
2/3 Cup White Wine
1 Tbl. Chopped Parsley
2 Cloves Garlic-minced
1 Jar Alfredo-style Pasta Sauce
1/4 Cup Milk to rinse jar with
1/3 Cup Grated Parmesean Cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Public Hot Sweet Pickles
1 quart Whole Dill pickles, cut into slices with 1 Cup saved pickle Brine.
1/2 Cup vinegar
3 Cups granulated Sugar
1/2 tsp Celery Seed
1/4 Cup Tobasco Sauce
3 Garlic Cloves
*I usually get Garlic Dill Pickles and skip the cloves

Public Upside Down Rhubarb Cake
1 Yellow Cake Mix (Prepared)
3 cups Rhubarb
1 cup Sugar
1/2 Pint heavy whipping cream
Prepare cake batter as directed. Chop rhubarb and mix with sugar in seperate in bowl. Place cake batter in 9X13" pan. Sprinkle Rhubard and Sugar mix over batter and pour cream over. DO NOT MIX.
