LOL... Why are you so angry with the Apple Family?
  • Scott P. Scott P. replied Jun 16th
    it's not a family, it's a freakin' cult.

Cult is a far better explanation than Family. Charles Manson claimed his cult was a family, and look how well that turned out.

Scott, I have to agree with the cult part, but I think the reason the price is 'more accessible' is that it requires less capital. Consider how many new features there are. Also look at international prices, like the UK, who will get Pay+Go soon.

!scottph - !commandertim calls it "drinking the Apple kool-aid". He used to work for an Apple reseller and everyone there was in the Cult of Apple hardcore. For laughs, he would tell them how Windows was a great OS and how his next computer purchase would be a PC. To say they nearly had an aneurysm was an understatement!

I also say a big "HA HA" to those idiots who bought one at $599.

I do that all the time, Carolyn, hence my periodic Pownces about how I love Vista and how I want Bill Gates to be my daddy.

Lawrence, most people can get a Blackberry for cheaper than an iPhone and have it do basically the same thing. Heck, they are almost giving Curves away for free in major markets now. Apples "new features" and some of the ones they still don't have, have been on WM or BB devices for more than a year.

Then don't get an Apple product. Stop moaning about it. Geez...

I don't like Vista or Microsoft in general, but I refrain from posting because I don't want to act like a selfrighteous zealot.
  • Scott P. Scott P. replied Jun 16th
Nah, I'll continue to moan about it. I think I have a right to speak up in response to all the "fans' of a product that I think is lacking, especially when these fans look at any announcement from any company like a speech from the second coming.

Plus, it seems with all the blogs and posts from others that I am not alone in seeing the downside of the product...and they haven't kept their mouths (fingers) shut about it either.

It's all good, though. You don't like reading it, feel free to remove me from your list, no harm done. Pownce is great for conversation and stirring debate...too bad, using your statement above, you would rather keep it to yourself.

Once the app store comes out there will be no comparison between Blackberry and iPhone. If all you are interested in is getting your email and having a crappy web experience, then stick with the Blackberry. By the way, for 2 venti Starbucks a month, over two years you get almost wi-fi speeds and a GPS added in.
  • Scott P. Scott P. replied Jun 16th
My BB has had GPS for 7 months and is on the fastest network in Canada right now.

I have no issues with the browser, but will if I have an iPhone on Rogers in Canada and paying $30 a month for the honour of a data plan.

Right now I pay $47 for unlimited email, IM, GPS and that includes voice. That is $17 more than what will be voice alone on the iPhone.
And I won't mention that I can record video and the fact I have a built-in flash.

Hey Scott, what phone do you have?
  • Scott P. Scott P. replied Jun 16th
    BlackBerry Curve.
