digg can't stand the criticism, but i think it's also the investors that they don't want to show this criticism to. let's hit them up individually to make this effective.

the story, btw, was buried.

Sorry I could not agree with what your saying. I understand but I happen to like all the changes. Things change it is the way of life. I buried it also. I suck I guess..........
  • Tamar W. replied Sep 20th
that's not really what *i* said. i wrote that it's a community reaction.

this is the point. digg is against blind digging and then there are people like you who aren't reading and are blind burying. how wonderful.

Know what I appreciate? How much more visible the Digg mods censorship is today. I like how, at least today, the motives of Digg staff are easily tracked and questioned. It's the best benefit of the changes seen so far.
I like some of the changes. But I hate censorship.
  • Tamar W. replied Sep 20th
by the way, what you fail to understand is that i don't care about the new features. ok, so facebook is on digg now. great. but why remove working features that made it easier to get the news i want? THAT is where we differ.
  • Tamar W. replied Sep 20th
thank you edward. couldn't have said it better myself.

maybe we should write to businessweek. yeah, good idea.

Well, one thing that they probably wanted to do, and succeeded totally, was to try to get diggers to stop doing blind diggs on the friends/submitted page... now that is practically impossible
  • Edward P. replied Sep 20th
Tamar, hope you were responding to Michael in the above. In my post, I was agreeing with your exposing Digg's inability to listen to criticism... from the very people who drive their profits.
  • Edward P. replied Sep 20th
Ok.. I'll shutup b/c by the time I submit a reply, it's irrelevant. I respect your being vocal today, Tamar. I'm glad someone else cares enough to speak their mind. This censorship thing has been lurking on a back burner for me for some time. And it's the antithesis of what Digg or any other site should be.

@Tamar I read it I just do not agree I do not blind bury or did and yours was the first one I ever buried. No offense that is just my feeling and everything has a degree of censorship........
  • Tamar W. replied Sep 20th
    haha. :)

yeah edward, i wrote about digg's internal burying awhile ago. we can't reach the press through Digg anymore because they restrict our freedom to speak. therefore, let's just directly contact them.

    http://www.techipedia....

kevin doesn't want to listen. he wants to sell out. well some of us won't let him.

btw, when do you think i'm getting banned from digg/pownce for being vocal about these issues?
  • Sun T. replied Sep 20th
Do you honestly think it will stop blind digging. Blind digging is there and even if you make it one more step away it is going to remain there.

And why would you even think that is the issue. You now have a built in mechanism to send your digg post to all your friends or fans within digg.

So you cannot digg your friends articles easily, but you can spam everyone you want with shouts?

  • Sun T. replied Sep 20th
    @michael..

The point is you dont agree with what? The article was about the negative community response to some of the new features.

I told Daniel that making the bury feature easier to use was gonna just influence people to feel they no longer need a reason to use it.

Bury is for spam, duplicate, or just flat out stupid articles. This article was none of those and it was just showcasing the feelings of quite the majority of digg's top users.

  • Tamar W. replied Sep 20th
    thank you sunny :-* ;)

michael, i don't bury articles i disagree with in 99% of the case. i ignore those. i will bury for spam/duplicate for obvious reasons. i'll bury for lame when someone submits a non-english story to digg. but if i disagree, i simply disregard.
  • Michael K. replied Sep 20th
Well when I read it they were neg. about the new features and Tamar said that I blind dug when I did not agree with the negativity of the features. I like the features quite a bit. I have never buried anything till that article because I did not like it basically. When reading it I thought that people are making a big deal out of nothing. That is my opinion and anyone else is entitled to say whatever they want obviously. But anyway it does not matter she can think I just blind dig or bury I do not care........
  • Tamar W. replied Sep 20th
fair enough. people are making a big deal out of nothing.
  • Michael K. replied Sep 20th
    Agreed
  • Michael K. replied Sep 20th
    @Tamar no hard feelings here
  • Tamar W. replied Sep 20th
@michael same here. i happen to be passionate about the issues. i don't think we're really making a big deal because digg's positive qualities was in the fact that it's a SOCIAL NEWS site. now it's a social site with news secondary. quite sad...
