Amazed at how quickly Google picked-up on my latest blog post this morning. I inadvertently misspelled "refurb" as "referb" resulting in the phrase "referb madness". (I've now changed the title, but the URL remains the same). Within 10 minutes of posting Google found it and threw it to number 1 for the search. That's pretty amazing if you were wanting to publicize something quickly on an organic search.
Also I've noticed that an easy way to get to number 1 on a given search is to use a unique phrase that hasn't been written into a title or URL. For instance, the phrase "nine random facts" has pointed to my blog as the number one result in Google still running since last June. Not bad out of 1,760,000. Just imagine for a business if one were to find a phrase that was a common search not yet used explicitly in a URL. Shows you the power of an SEO friendly platform such as WordPress. Pretty compelling stuff for viral marketing.
