Word '07 doesn't have vertical scrollbar on by default. Really stupid. Quick Google search fixed it.

That's strange. Mine were on by default, and I didn't do an upgrade or anything. Were you in "reading mode". Sometimes when you open a document, it defaults to reading view. That's a pain.
On other thing that bugs me is that the new Adobe reader doesn't have the hand on by default.

Yeah, it seems like some of the most obvious preferences are neglected. Sure you can Google it, but what a bother.
