My refurbished PC and new machine came today. I'm like a kid in a candy store. Feeling the elbow room with the new 19" monitor and the flexibility of the two machines networked.

    i am just about ready to get a new machine myself. and i am right where you were before, do i get refurb or make payments through my company discount program?

    Ryan, I went through a local franchise of Computer Troubleshooters. He also happens to be a friend of mine, but I couldn't be happier w/ what he delivered for the price. What was so striking was that it I got so much more for my money. I needed to get setup for a significant side job so I shelled-out some bucks straight-up for the two, but just glad to have gone beyond the normal cheap parts that come in most of what's offered by Dell and the big box stores.

    Fortunately, in my case, the side job has given me the resources to foot the bill. Otherwise I probably would have gone the employee discount program. But all said and done, I'm glad to have two machines with quality parts.

    I love my large screen display too. Nothing like having to turn your head slightly to see the other side. :)

    I agree: You can't beat a hand assembled machine put together from quality parts you picked yourself. Well worth the effort and (typically) negligible bump in cost.

    I always love that new pc smell.

    Of course I smell that way more often than the new car smell.
