Ripped my first HD-DVD last night (Serenity).
Ya see I already dropped 2k on an new desktop, not about to pony up for a new HDCP compliant monitor.
My Movies plugin for media center even played it off the hard drive super-smooth.
I'm sick of waiting for "managed copy".
I paid for the discs, gonna do what I wants with them.
Yaaarrrrrrr!

No burning, yet. I only have a HD-DVD rom drive.
For the rip I used Slysoft AnyDVD HD, and playback is handled by PowerDVD deluxe 7.3.
The HD-DVD playback software that came with the PC only looks at optical drives, not HDD file locations, powerdvd doesn't have that limitation.
I wonder if I can use a virtual optical drive to trick it...
More experimentation to come I guess.

Is there a special feature on the HD DVD where *********** doesnt die?

(Assuming you've seen it, but I cant be too careful with that spoiler.)

That'd be nice now wouldn't it.
I actually always appreciate the balls it takes to kill off main characters in any series/movie.
Sad that an awesome character like **** or **** is gone, but their deaths shape other characters' development.
Jeez I'd give my leftnut for a Serenity sequel.
    *sigh*
