"The IT Crowd" DVD set (seasons 1&2) came in the mail yesterday, sent all the way from jolly ol' Amazon.co.uk.
I already downloaded all the shows, but I bought the DVD set anyway. In fact, if I never downloaded it, I never would have been able to see it, and would never have bought the DVD.
So MPAA/RIAA, how does your argument about how each download of a copyrighted work equals a lost sale hold water?

I agree. Back when Napster was "free"...I bought exponentially more music than I had before or since. In the lawsuit happening in MN right now with Jammie Thomas taking the RIAA to court, the RIAA's lead counsel admitted on the stand (after being questioned over what the actual amount of damages was) that:

"We haven't stopped to calculate the amount of damages we've suffered due to downloading..."

And when asked about how many people actually downloaded music from the defendant (Thomas) in this case she said:

    "We don't know."

I hope Thomas wins her lawsuit.

With that said, the IT Crowd is AWESOME.

i justify my collection of downloaded movies with the thought that i still spend way way more than the average person in the theaters. considering i try to go at least once a week, sometimes 3 or 4 times in one week, most of the stuff i have i've already seen there.
